|Media Visit Information|
Resolute Support remains committed to providing media with as many opportunities as possible to engage with our service members in Afghanistan and report on our mission. Unfortunately in the coming months as our force levels change, there will be fewer Coalition supported opportunities to embed with our units. Due to capacity concerns, embeds longer than 24-hours outside Kabul will not be feasible unless specifically requested and approved by the Train, Advise, and Assist Command (TAAC) Commander. Unit commanders will make this final determination on what they can support, but most media we host, now and in the future, should plan on staying in local Kabul lodging and interviewing the unit during a short visit to its location. Additionally if journalists are considering dates to embed, please forward the request to Resolute Support Headquarters as soon as possible. It would also be helpful to share with us what you intend to cover and focus on so we can ensure a unit is available to support your story.
If an embed request is not supportable by Resolute Support, journalists may seek to embed with Afghan National Army (ANA) units by applying for such opportunities through the Afghan Ministry of Defense (MoD). If you are interested in embedding with ANSF, you should contact the Afghan Ministry of Defense (MoD) or Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) to initiate the embed process with Afghan Security Forces. Both ministries have established procedures to process media visit requests.
To embed with Afghan units, please contact.
